Vessel in burnt umber and prussian blue
Entirely painted using acrylic paint in only prussian blue, burnt umber and mixing white. Using sgraffito textures. Finally the pot shadow was added in black soft pastel for a matt finish to contrast with the sheen of the acrylic paint. On paper.

Started by sketching shadows of plants in the garden, and then filled out the shapes with paint. Interior paint from tester pots on board.

The cat with two kinds of camouflage
Acrylic on board, using sgraffito and layers of paint to pick out a variety of whimsical, predominantly African animals.

Tulips in the farm yard
Acrylic and gouache on canvas board. Textures were built up until animals started to appear, and have been picked out by painting white painting into negative spaces. Details with Derwent inktense pencils.

Dried flowers in bottles with house plants
Acrylic collage with many parts. A 3D element from some leaves not being fully stuck down so they appear to emerge from the pots on the page. Details and shading with Derwent inktense pencils, and a nod to my previous collage 'Welsh hills' with the painting in the background.

Bottles
Collage of colourful acrylic textured vessels over gouache painted background. Scribbled shading and texture with Derwent inktense pencils and finished with a homemade beeswax buff so the bottles shine.


Vase of flowers
Colourful acrylic collage vase with flowers, cereal bowl with a spoon and a pot on the windowsill. With a dark backdrop, green glow outside the window and a warm, buff table surface. Scribbled texture and shading with Derwent inktense pencils.


All the animals on the farm
Left over Acrylic paints layered on paper allowed me to pick out animal shapes until I had found them all. Oil pastel details on top.


The Zebra
Acrylic on board, with collaged Japanese rice paper painted with watercolour. Varnished.


Moose and Elwy under the moon
Two friends gaze at one another under a full moon. With a dark green backdrop glowing backdrop and simple brushstrokes in acrylic, finished with varnish.

Acrylic on board inspired by the horse paintings of Karen Bezuidenhout. Finished with a homemade Bees wax buff.
