Mixed media abstract painting of a Bee.

I started this painting by sketching under the shadows of garden flowers onto the pink background. The diagonal stems look as though they are gently waving in the wind and are just slightly out of focus similar to a shallow depth of field in a photograph. It took me a long time to decide what would be flying through this summery haze, but in the end it had to be a Bee. The honey yellow colours compliment the soft and warm colour pallet and the fuzzy black legs and head give some contrast.
