The Cat with two kinds of camouflage

£150.00Price

Mixed media painting with many animals from different continents and plants in a bush setting.

24 x 24 inches.

This painting feels more like an illustration. Two cats stalk through the savannah, observed by imaginary birds, ungulates, a porcupine and a pangolin. The central cat, or main character displays the markings of both a tiger and a spotted cat such as a cheatah, hence two kinds of camouflage and emphasising the lack of specific origin or enhancing the fictional blending of continents. Grasses and other textures are scratched through the paint showing the different layers of bright colours underneath. The unifying shade of warm brown across the whole painting with the small animal/plant details makes the entire painting feel almost animal print like.
