Mixed media painting of a jug with umbellifers and leaves.

This painting is mainly left over interior paint, with some touches of acrylic gouache. It started out as layers of leaves from the garden painted and then printed onto the board. I sketched shadows of my roses and other flowers on the surface and then picked out the best composition of these to fill my jug which was painted in over the top. Soft pastel colours serve to give the painting a sense of calm and contrast with the vibrant teal stripes of the jug.
